After months of rumors, The Samsung Galaxy Note8 is announced and will be shipping in early September. Here are 5 things you should know.
Dual rear cameras are slowly becoming a standard for high end smart phones. The Note8 is said to be the world’s first dual camera with optical image stabilization on both lenses. For video recording, The dual cameras helps improve with stabilization. For photos, The shutter can stay open longer, resulting in better low-light snaps. The video below shows how the optical image stabilization creates better photos in the real world.
The Note8 doesn’t disappoint when it comes to screen size. The 6.3-inch QHD Super AMOLED infinity display is perfect for movie lovers, gamers, and productivity on the go. With a 2960 x 1440 resolution, The screen is sure to be the first thing people will notice. Having such a big phone may seem weird but Android takes full advantage of the extra space. Especially in split screen mode.
For any Galaxy phone there are 2 must have accessories, Gear VR and the DeX. The Note8 is so big that it wont fit inside of the old Gear VR. A new version will be releasing next month. The bigger screen is sure to improve on the mobile VR experience. Then there is the DeX, Its a dock that connects to a HDMI monitor and allows the latest Galaxy phones to be used as a mini PC. Many companies have tried this idea in the pass but it looks like Samsung finally got it right.
The S-Pen is back and can be used in multiple new ways. Like creating animated GIFs and taking Notes on the lock screen. Be sure not to loose it!
